Renault Koleos dimensions

The Renault Koleos was developed to be both distinctive and cool, according to its makers. It's certainly the former, although it lacks the flair the French are capable of. From some angles it looks awkward, especially when compared to its cousin, the Nissan X-trail. The Renault Koleos is supposed to bridge the gap between its small hatchbacks and larger Mpvs, but looks like a hatchback on an 4×4 chassis. The look-and-feel of its competitors, including the Ford Kuga, Volkswagen Tiguan and Toyota RAV4 shows rugged needn't mean unattractive.

Koleos features a split-opening tailgate which affords simple access in tight vehicle parks, and the lower section can even double as a bench for two adults weighing up to 200kgs combined. The boot opening is the widest in its class. The back seatings tumble and fold flat into the floor in one movement (dynamique S and Privilege only) and room can grow from 450 litres to more than 1300, litres. There's lots of cargo around the cab too, with a 15-litre cooled glovebox and the centre control panel is equipped with a removable basket.

All models option a split-opening tailgate, tinted windows, tables on the rear of the front seatings and a cooled glovebox. The Dynamique deserves an Mp3-compatible CD player, an aux input to connect other stereo devices, air-con, electric windows, cruise control and speed limiter, 17-inch alloys and roof bars. The Dynamique S gets automatic wipers and headlights, conditioning, performance folding and heated door mirrors, hands no-cost keycard, parking sensors and hill descent and hill start controls on four-wheel drive models.  the Privilege features leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, Bose audio, sat-nav, back side window blinds and bright bi-xenon headlamps.
