Mitsubishi i-MiEV dimensions

The Mitsubishi I-miev is exactly the same as Peugeot's equivalent, the Ion. Apart from that, though, this is a distinctive-looking vehicle. Unlike the very conventional-looking Nissan LEAF electric hatchback, the Mitsubishi I-miev stands out with its wedge profile and bubbly front bumper.

The Mitsubishi I-miev packages its battery cleverly underneath the boot, so while the luggage room is poor, the vehicle can fit four adults comfortably. Longer journeys might start to feel claustrophobic, but then again, the Mitsubishi I-miev's range doesn't enable it to do long journeys anyway. Its 227-litre boot capacity extends to 860 litres with the back bench backs down, so this is not an completely impractical electric vehicle – just not in the same league as the Nissan LEAF.

With such a big asking price tag, the least a shopper could ask for is a lot of of traditional kit; the shopper gets just about that. Alloy wheels, air-con, electric windows and a leather helm are traditional, making this feel about the level of a mid-range supermini. Leather seating is a pricey feature, but there are no parking sensors, cruise control or Bluetooth.
