The 2012 Kia Soul is a 4-door hatchback available in three punctuation-inspired versions: base, + and !.
The base model's list of traditional equipment contains 15-inch metal wheels, performance locks and mirrors, air-conditioning, cloth upholstery, a 60/40-split-folding back bench, a trip computer, a tilt-and-telescoping steering column, and a four-speaker audio system with CD player, satellite radio, an optional stereo slot and an Ipod/usb stereo interface. When equipped with the auxillary automatic transmission, the base Kia Soul gains keyless entry, back privacy glass, cruise control, a height-adjustable driver bench and Bluetooth phone connectivity.
Automatic-equipped base Kia Souls can also be fitted with the 1. 6 Eco suite, which adds fuel-saving features like a stop/start system, low-rolling-resistance tires and an updated battery, along with add-on items that include 16-inch alloy wheels, performance mirrors, illuminated vanity mirrors and add-on speakers.
Besides the Eco package's fuel-saving features (available separately), the Kia Soul + contains all the extra items above along with heated mirrors, dash-top and center control panel cargo bins, a leather-wrapped helm and some metal-look dashboard trim. The Stereo Update suite adds automatic headlights, a rearview camera, the Uvo hands-free electronic interface and an eight-speaker Infinity audio system with HD radio and tricolor speaker lights.
The top-of-the-line Kia Soul ! adds 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, foglights, LED daytime running lights and taillights, a sunroof (optional on Kia Soul +), houndstooth pattern two-tone upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and the Stereo Update suite. The Luxury suite adds keyless ignition/entry, leather upholstery, heated front seatings, automatic climatic control and a navigator with real-time traffic. .
